DN42 Search Copilot is a Chrome extension that displays DN42 search results alongside Google Search results. This policy explains how the extension handles information.
When you use a Google Search results page, the extension reads the search query from that page's q URL parameter. It uses that query only to request results from the DN42 search endpoint you have configured.
The extension stores the following settings in Chrome Sync Storage:
Search results may be cached in the extension's memory for up to 60 seconds. This cache is discarded when the background service worker stops and is not uploaded or retained by the extension.
The extension sends your search query to the configured DN42 search endpoint. If you enable proxy support, it sends the request to the proxy endpoint you configure; the proxy receives the complete DN42 search URL, including the query.
These network services are independently operated. Their privacy practices, logs, and retention policies are not controlled by DN42 Search Copilot. Configure only endpoints and proxies you trust.
The extension does not send search queries, settings, browsing history, or any other data to the extension developer or to any analytics, advertising, tracking, or telemetry service.
Diagnostic logging is disabled by default. When enabled by you, request URLs, response status, timing information, parsing counts, permission checks, and error details are written to the extension service worker's local DevTools console. These logs are not transmitted by the extension.
Because request URLs include the search query, disable diagnostic logging when it is no longer needed and avoid sharing logs that contain queries you consider sensitive.
The extension uses:
storage to save your extension settings in Chrome Sync Storage. The extension does not modify Google Search results, replace your search engine, or access pages outside its declared permissions.
Network requests use the protocol configured in the endpoint or proxy template. Use HTTPS endpoints with certificates trusted by your browser and operating system whenever possible. The extension cannot bypass TLS certificate validation.
This policy may be updated when the extension's data handling changes. The effective date at the top of this document will be updated with any revision.
